RULES FOR MOSJØEN WINTER ART CHALLENGE 2010

 

1. Registration on the web within 20th of January 2010. It is the artist's obligation to read and accept the rules and terms (below) for participation in MWAC Competition and Exhibition prior to registration.
2. Both single individuals and groups (max 4 persons) can participate in the challenge. Participants must get to and from Mosjoen by self-cost travel and they must obtain a residence and studio/work space themselves.
3. The participant form can be picked up at Galleria Arthouse from 12:00, February 4th 2010.
4. Official opening: February 4th 2010, at 13:30
5. All forms of expression within image creation is allowed (painting, drawing, graphic prints, photography, collage etc.) It is up to the artists themselves how the artwork is presented to the jury. The work must be "exhibition ready" in the form of suspension, framing and so on when it is submitted. The Art work must be labeled with name, phone number and email address. In use of PC, projector and other technical equipment the artist must provide retrival after the exhibition MWAC X is over
6. This is an open competition for both professionals and amateurs from age 16 and up. The winner is selected by a jury on the basis of the best approach to the theme of winter
7. The artworks must be created during this weekend within the municipalities of Vefsn, Grane and Hattfjelldal.
8. There need to be no recognizable motifs from the region. All participants are free to interpret their own winter mood!
9. Up to three works can be submitted to the jury and exhibition committee within Saturday February 6th at 16:00. Sunday February 7th the MWAC X Exhibition opens, and the prizes and prices will be awarded. The exhibition lasts until Sunday the 14th.
10. 40 artworks will be selected by the jury to be sent to other exhibitions in the counties of North-Trøndelag and Nordland.

 

 

 

TERMS FOR MOSJØEN WINTER ART CHALLENGE 2010

 

 

Mosjøen Winter Art Challenge (MWAC) Will take place from 4 to 8 February 2010 with the agreement of the sponsorship of Sparebank 1, other sponsore and the organisation of MWAC.

 

 

Partecipation terms:

 

 

• Registration on the web within 20th of January 2010. It is the artist's obligation to read and accept this agreement for participation in MWAC Competition and Exhibition prior to registration.

 

 

When registrated the artist also has committed to this agreement.

 

 

• Artwork theme: Winter

 

 

• All forms of expression within image creation is allowed (painting, drawing, graphic prints, photography, collage etc.) It is up to the artists themselves how the artwork is presented to the jury. The work must be "exhibition ready" in the form of suspension, framing, pedestals, monitors and so on when it is submitted.

 

The artist can also choose to put the work on display without any kind of framing, glass or other gadgets.

 

 

• The artwork has to be submitted to the show place whithin Saturday February 6th at 16:00. The work must be labeled with with the following indications, in capital letters.

• If not selected for award and exhibition by the jury, the artist must provide retrival of atworks themselves. After an eventual exhibition, forwarding cost will be to the recipients charge.

 

 

In use of PC, projector and other technical equipment, the artist also have to provide retrival themselves

 

 

• Artwork sizes:

 

Paintings, pictures etc.: Maximum 155 x 110 cm and 100 kilograms

 

 

Sculptures etc: Maximum 80 x 80 x 80 cm and 100 kilograms

 

 

PC, projector and other technical equipment has to be within the limitations above, regarding pictures and sculptures.

 

 

• Selected artwork will be exhibeted at a show place, following criterion decided by MWAC. MWAC will take care of the artworks in the best possible way.

 

Anyway – MWAC take no responsibility for eventual damage, loss, theft or other drawback

 

 

• There is no participation fee.

 

 

• In case of MWAC X exhibition. MWAC is required to provide the public and the press information about the exhibition in form of advertising and a simple directory that contains the artist's name, residence, work's title and price.

 

 

• In case of sales: The artwork will be sold directly from the show place. MWAC's commission is 25% of sales price.

 

 

A fee of 5% of the sales price will be added when the price of the artwork exceeds NOK 2000. cf. Act of 14 November 1948 and the Act of 12 May 1961.

 

 

The artist has to provide MWAC with bank account, SWFT code, BIC numbres or other necessities needed for payment from Norway

 

 

• Within 30 days oafter the exhibition is completed, the artist will receive a sales list along with payment for sold artwork.

 

 

• Unsold artwork is forwarded to cost of the recipients charge.
